We removed existing oak parquet flooring and carpet stair. The stair had 20yr. old pine skirt board, post, rail, and balusters. All of the new wood used on the stair and floor is African Mahogany. The wood was bought rough from a semi-local mill in 6/4 form. The skirtboards, risers, treads, base cap, and 3 1/4" flooring were made from this stock. The post, rail and fittings, and balusters were ordered. Surprisingly they matched up well with the wood i found.
