3 sets of doors I mave for a bldg. housing a car & motorcycle collection. The chauffer lives upstairs. The doors on the side are 8' x 8' x 2 1/4", the middle set is 17' O.A. eith the actual doors @ 9'/6" x 8' x 2 1/4". All the material used is Sapele, all the horizontals are grain matched, the T&G is 1" thick. Radiused weatherstripping is laminated with 3, 3/16" slices. Doors are mortise & tenon with partial pegs (not all the way through)& Gorilla glue. To prevent water damage/infiltration I angle the top of the bottom rail @ 12 degrees, insert a a copper "U" channel with a extra lip that's bent at the same angle in the kerf, and finally, small triangles glued in the reveals between the T&G also at the same angle on top. This has worked well for me over the years. To seal the bottoms to the uneven & rough aprons I use auto-sweeps. This job took me 4 weeks to build & 1 week to install with a little help. The finish was done with Sikkens.
**Note** Every single radiused opening was different & none of them were consistant which mage the entire job "Interesting" I did have some single malt when I was done, and a steak for Leo.
