Work in Progress. My Old Friend ask me to build a swinging cradle for his comming first grandbaby. We have a lot of history on the farm, so decided to use antique chessnut oak that I salvaged out of the old barn demolition.

I stained and urethaned the raised panels prior to assembly of the cradle sides. Note the Red Cedar crotch boards freshly resawn...another project...
I have used biscuits and like them, but there is nothing like the real thing. Proper mortise and tenon will not fail. I like the precision. Note the old nail holes and splits from our old barn. I''m glad they can''t talk!
