King Size Solid Cherry Sleigh Bed for a client.
Includes bent laminations of solid wood for the curved panels and stiles. the legs are 1.75" thick and the rails are 1.25" thick. The crest rail is just over 1" thick. The panels are all aligned so the same board and grain pattern run through both sets of panels.
The side rails use a hidden bolt to secure to the headboard and footboard.
Shown here assembled in my shop without the wooden slats and support legs for the king size box springs.
The finish is a hand rubbed varnish/tung oil.

Stunning piece of work - wish I lived in the U.S.!!
Very nice work. Very nice finish too! How is the box spring supported? Is there another structure or braces of some kind?
Pat thanks for the comments. Since it is king size the box spring will be supported by a slat running from the headboard to the footboard. That slat will have a small leg with an adjustable foot that goes to the floor. Then the horizontal slats will lay over that crosswise from rail to rail.
Beautiful piece.
