Classy! Myabe you could paint the leaves and cherry natural colors as an accent to bring out the relief?

Nice.

I agree with Joel that the relief need to be accented. Another idea, in addition to Joel's good one, is to glaze the area. A dark color glaze will fill the low spots creating a visual sense of depth.
