I'm just wondering if this spiral stair meets the building code. It looks like you did a fine job building it, but in my area (Oregon), nothing greater than a 4" ball can fit between the ballusters. Are you in an area that has a differing code?
Also, just curious, does this spiral stair have a steel column?

THIS STAIR IS IN BC CANADA,IT IS A SECONDARY STAIR TO A LOFT.I DESIGNED IT AND GOT IT APPROVED BY THE CITY.THE MAIN STAIRS IN THE HOUSE ARE TO CODE.ALSO THIS STAIR HAS A 1" STEEL ROD THOUGH THE CENTER , BOLTED TO THE FLOOR...........PHIL
