This simple wall clock is made from Buckeye Burl. The quartz mechanism is set in a mortise in the back. I chose not to clutter the face with numbers, so you only have the gist of what time it is when you look at it, which I think is just fine. It is frill-free and easy to enjoy the natural patterns in the grain.
Finished with oil and wax.
About 16" tall, 1ft wide, 1" thick.

VERY nice Travis. I was thinking of doing the same with a small, highly figured piece of curly maple. I was undecided on using #'s on the face, you've shown you don't need them. BEAUTIFULL.
Nice work.
For those of us who grew up before digital clocks, this is quite easy to read as long as the clock is mounted properly. If you tilt it, then you would definitely need something to identify at least some of the hours (such as 12,3,6,9).
It is mounted straight and square, the quartz mechanism is anyway. But you technically mount it any way you wanted to as long as you set the time so 12:00 would be the highest the arms would ever be.
