The center panels on the Macassar Ebony table are Madrone Burl with Holly inlay between and around them. There are also a couple Mother of Pearl dots inlayed at the corners and one in the middle of the table, I don''t recall quite why I put one in the middle though.
The base has Holly feet and Mother of Pearl dots inlayed in a pattern reminiscent of some Art Deco pieces I have seen. The column has a number of inlayed Holly lines to break up the Ebony veneer and tie the base to the top a bit more.
A closeup of one corner of the top showing the Mother of Pearl dots. The largest has a silver perimeter which didn''t turn out quite as well as I''d hoped. They come premade in a number of sizes from my Mother of Pearl dot supplier (www.rescuepearl.com) and look quite nice but they seem to highlight the glue lines when inlayed into the Holly border, plain Mother of Pearl would have looked better.
