Solid oak sewing desk and bedside cabinet with dovetailed drawers.Middle b/s cabinet rolls out on castors for the guest room.
All polished with an NGR stain that I slowed down with a touch of turps and poly mixed in. Stain ragged on. For the poly I used this small sponge roller then brushed over quickly to flatten the goosebumps. Used a fine brush. Two coats with a day apart and light sanding.Did it on a rainy weekend so no dust blowing around. Done in the middle of my shop elevated on blocks 6". Dryed to a perfect finish. $20! Great saving!
Proof is in the low shot. Drawers were sat face up to polish. Knobs drilled in after of course. No runs on the verticals because the small roller lays it so evenly. Cleared the dust off the floor the day before so it''s not kicked up. very happy and saved so much. Will do it again :)
Polyurethane flattened nicely for a satin sheen. Still money in my pocket for the beer!
