A shame...
It's hard to compete with overseas labor rates or even cnc rates with custom furniture.
I would target designers that work in affluent areas, skie towns, etc. Let them sell your work for you to people that can afford/appreciate your work.

Nice work. I think you are right on target looking for a designer or a gallery. You really need to find someon to comission you for this type of work and make any real money on it.

Donald, the price you can get depends on your targeted market. A custom piece like that should go for between 3-5 thousand all depending on who you are trying to sell to. And I have found that paper advertising works best. Usually magazines that target the demographic you are interested in.
