The Zig-Zag pattern wraps around both cabinet sides and the drawer fronts. The cabinet is about 72" wide by 42" high by 21" deep. The top is veneered in Curly Maple.
The interior is veneered in Maple to match the exterior and has adjustable shelves on both sides. The doors are hinged with euro hinges so that no hardware would be visible from the outside. The first piece in this set had SOSS hinges but they didn''t work well with the touch latch openers so we switched to free swinging euro hinges at the clients request.
The upper drawers are solid Maple built in the NK style which works quite well and speeds fitting. The Zig-Zag veneer pattern is glued onto a thin false front to allow the pattern to flow uninterrupted across the drawer dividers. The Zig-Zag pattern has an interesting distorted pattern on the left side of this photo with some of the pieces looking shorter than the others. Kind of a cool optical illusion.
Here is a shot of the pattern showing how all the pieces are essentially identical in length and width. This pattern starts as a series of straight strips of veneer taped together to form the width of the piece then the taped strips are cut at a particular angle for one set of parts and the opposite angle for the opposing set.
Three of the other cabinets in this set looked essentially like this one, although this particular cabinet has been outfitted for electronics inside.
Lots of slots for heat and wiring and some adjustable shelves on both sides that aren''t shown here.
