Yeah I love Japanese style too :-)Someone asked me about the round pieces on the top and underneath the roof. The three under are the 10' roof beams, I laminated up blanks and had them turned to round.
The three on top, well, when I designed the roof, the Japanese Landscape Architect (who design/installed the garden)http://www.takendodesign.com/ requested I do that grouping of three ridge ornament. I think they're usually bamboo (?) but in this case I used cedar dowels that I ordered somewhere.
