The table is about 84" long by 44" wide. It was hard to shoot photos of this table in a way that accurately shows the shape of the top and base but this one is pretty close. The top looks a bit longer in person making the table more slender than shown in this image.
The side view shows the curved base a little better. The end panels of the base are also curved from the end view.
The center ellipse has two stylized marquetry Tulips on an Ash Burl background. The burl is framed in alternating dark green dyed Poplar and Anigre squares with Ebony borders.
This client is a fan of the Ottoman Empire and the Tulip designs were based roughly on artwork of Tulips from that era. We did quite a bit of drawing to get the lines of both Tulips to flow properly and both were sand shaded after cutting which greatly adds to the 3 dimensional look of the flowers. This was quite an enjoyable project for a very nice client and it was fun to stray into more modern designs for a bit. Thanks for looking and any comments are welcome as always.
