Absolutely beautiful. I'm curious about the base - lag bolts, glue, or nails - just what holds it together? Or does the top lay loose?

The top of the base that goes against the bottom of the table has a 1/4" thick steel plate that is about 12" x 24" with about ten 1 1/2" lag bolts that go into the bottom of the table. You can dance or have an entire party on top of that table!!! :)

Wow great table. I love the wood - very nice base too. I'm guessing, but there must be two plates securing the top?

JD, you are correct, there is a plate welded on top of each side.
