This was a remodel in a 1978 home. The homeowners' saw a hood setup similar on a kitchen tour last year and opening up the wall was key to the entire design. I just had to make it work, and the hood was a challenge.
These homeowners' have lived on an island for 35 years so it is all very "beachy", and soft and smooth to the touch as well as on the eyes.
The window opened up the kitchen to the major view and allows light and also ended that feeling of being isolated from guests.
The washer and dryer were in a closet with bi-fold doors and ate up 36" of floor space and were moved to the garage to create a more flowing and open kitchen.
I used a Super Susan setup with no center pole or support in one corner and an easy reach space saving no waste corner in the other. Blum Tandem soft close slides, soft close on the doors also.
I suggested the cove molding for the crown because no one could decide. I dug deep and the cove worked well with this simplistic look.
