What materials did you use in the construction of this unit? Was there a concern with the design of the top shelve that it might sag with any substantial weight and if so, how did you prevent it? Looks excellent, thanks.

The top shelf is a double 5/8" just in case but it will apparently never house more than the fake plant on it now. It was more for asthetics than anything. Most of the units are constructed of 5/8" white melamine but any sides that would be exposed and highly visible and all of the drawer fronts are constructed of 3/4" mdf sprayed in a white satin eco friendly lacquer.
