That is amazing. Is the secret drawer built into the top? Push-Close hinges?

I added a couple pics to show the small disguised drawer and the make-up of the curves. The face veneers were added after forming the curve as I didn't trust the formers to press evenly initially.

are the stave core pieces milled flat and if so, why don't the edges telegraph through to the face veneer on the curved surfaces?

Hi KCR. The staves are indeed flat and square and even the slightest gaps perhaps but on top of them is bendy ply before the veneer was laid once set. Cheers. Do you have bendy-ply over your way? The 4mm stuff will bend to about a 200mm radius.
