Thank you. The pictures are poor quality, but am having a pro photographer come in and do a backdrop shoot and photos with it in the space once the rest of the construction is done on the building. The most challenging part was the joinery in the altar because everything had to be parallel with the floor so the top would be supported flat with no twist or misalignment. Also that much shop sawn veneer was a lot of work!

Very nice work. Is the main frame of the alter shaped claro panels with a thick shop-sawn veneer over all three sections of each half?

The substrate is laminated birch ply. Edge banded and veneered all from the same claro slab. I cut out the 2 dimensional substrate parts on a cnc with three dowel holes for alignment, then glued up the blank. Shaped the secondary curves, then edge banded and veneered. I tried to find the natural curves consistent with the design. Near the upper portion of the slab where the crotch was, this curve existed. The middle support stretchers are solid wood bent lamination joined together to form sub-assembly via three through dowels of madrone. (through as to suggest a subtle symbol: father, son, holy ghost)
