Company Name: Around the Bend WoodworksChild size Dovetail Harvest Bench. 48" long, 16' deep. The sides are Spalted Hard Maple, Hand cut with a chainsaw, then sanded for hours! 2" thick Red Maple slab seat & Oak Rail Back. Finished with 3 coats of Spar Urethane. This piece knocks down to 5 pieces & the 4 pins that hold it together. The seat is held by giant dovetails & is slightly tilted back, so gravity holds it in. The back rails are fastened to the sides by 4 pins, that when removed permit the bench to be dismantled.

Nice looking work! The contrasting wood look great together and most of all it looks comfortable. What method did you use to make the dovetails?

Thanks! This is my own original design. at first I was cutting them & all the pieces, slab included with a chain saw. Now I use a plain old dewalt skillsaw for the dovetails & buy my slabs from a local mill.

Thanks to all! The traffic on my site is going through the roof! OK Down to business. I had to come up with a knockdown design for these benches because in the larger versions of this bench are soooo heavy thats the only way to move them. I have made these in sizes from 2 to 12 feet. & they sell for around $100 a foot. At that price you can tell I do it for the love of the work ... not the money. Thanks again, Ted.
