Company Name: Hidden Talents FurnitureThis is a beautiful reproduction of a Limbert double oval table I've built out of quarter sawn white oak. This is really a sharp solid piece of furniture using a tricky rabet joint and mortise and tenon joinery to construct the main lower assembly.
After sanding thru to 220 grit paper I hand-rub on a mission brown dye stain. This darkens the wood and also raises the grain slightly. At this point I hand-sand (yes, with a sanding block, no electric sanding) which gives it a jade like smooth finish. Then I hand-rub on several coats of a Minwax "Red Mahogany" stain. This is done to every segment of the table. Then I sprayed on several coats of a satin polyurethane. It's a lenghty process but look at the results. These photos really don't do the piece justice. I tried to give as many angles as necessary to show off the fabulous "flecking" in the grain.
