Automaton Table

This mechanical table was designed off and on over a year long period, working closely with the client to determine the final details and functions. Incorporating a variety of secret compartments and hidden details, the table has at its core a mechanical functionality inspired by the work of Abraham and David Roentgen. As always I'm happy to hear any comments or questions.

Well done. It's an engineering feat. I guess there were many hours of trying to work it all out. Will you make another?

Thanks Andy, actually I've just started talking to a new client about an electronic version that would raise and lower a bronze sculpture. Still Art Deco style and with hidden details and secret drawers.

Thanks for the comment Hermann, I'd never heard of that competition. I wish they had more images of previous entries online, I was able to find only a couple but they looked interesting. Thanks.
