Walnut veneered torsion box top at 2" thick, with Walnut solids and veneers below. 54" x 138" x 30"h. Clear flat conversion varnish, so the table looks like unfinished wood.

Very nice David! I built a torsion box top recently and made the box first and then veneered the box. Out of curiosity is this how you do it as well or do you veneer the skins first and then use them to make the box?
Yes, this is a torsion box, 2" thick, with 1/4"MDF put onto the egg crate with solid edge bands. Then the top and bottom are veneered in one press.
Damn things are still heavy.
Beautiful table! It takes a lot of work to make something so simple. I bet your clients were thrilled.
