About 5 weeks work to make these wardrobes and dresser using oak mdf interiors and New Zealand native figured kauri frames and panels to fronts and sides. Cornise removable but moldings are attached on 3 sides of a square of mdf. Drawers run on hettich slides. Drawer fronts of sawn veneer and mitred edge mold for stability.I ran an 8 mm groove on the front edges of all the oak mdf before screwing the boxes together. Front edge moldings were glued and friction fitted later with 8mm ply strips. 10mm oak backs squared it all up.
Bit of an over-run. it was two days just fitting hardware, turning knobs, locater pins put everywhere, glass and mirror fitting etc. Had to spray the lacquer on in the middle of the workshop..awful! The truckers got a fright! Designed it so I would not have to fit it together on site...the locator pins of 15mm dowell did the trick.

Beautiful work, you should be proud of your efforts and your attention to detail. You said you had a trucker deliver it, were they your own, or contracted? Also you used locater pins so you wouldn't have to assemble anything on site, I'm assuming that's because of the distance. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to have that freighted?

Freight was about NZ$300 to the other side of the island...about 5 hours drive. I did not go so I made the thing easy to assemble and push together with the locator dowells for cornises and middle section. I ran a 600mm wide cling wrap round and round the units to hold things shut and the freight boys wrapped in blankets. No damage except to one finger of the carrier!
