Did you edge the doors before laying the veneer or is bought veneered board? I had the pleasure of a job in London where we did the edges with about 10mm stock applies with heat and urea glue before veneering both sides in a big heated press. Raw mdf to finished door in less than an hour if you just made one.

We used maple veneered MDF, then glued and pinned the strips with a 23 guage pinner. Then routed the edges to trim flush. We could do a door in about 5 to 10 minutes depending on the size of the door with the parts cut first. Although, prepping the thin stock as a bit of a pain. We ripped first, then planed with a 12" Makita planer. I have a 20" planer, but it was somewhat over kill. The Makita did a nicer finish job on the thin stock.
