Looks like it will work well for the clients needs.

If you're open to some constructive comments, I would suggest.
1. use a medium or dull rub finish.
2. increase the length of the bench so the tower isn't one or two inches from the casing. Either make it tight to the casing, or far enough off it allow for future painting. Also, leaving one or two inch gaps really show any problems with trim that isn't square.

Nice piece of work. I happen to be a fan of the glossy finish myself and think it looks extremely nice with the wood floors in this particular room. It actually looks like the room is kind of small and I can see why you didn't go much bigger with the bench. Overall, I think it's a very nice piece.

I agree with Dub it is a nice piece. definitely shiny for my taste. He is right on about a small gap. If the customer is happy then you have done your job perfectly, since their opinion is the only one that counts. Once again nice piece.

Am I assuming something wrong or is this furniture and not a "built in" cabinet.

Constructive critiques .......
Toning down the gloss would make it warmer looking....and maybe a table edge with mouldings under them at the bottom of the open shelving. Maybe doing raised panels on the front of the toolbox would look better too.

It looks like you have the talent to assemble everything so it fits well....you only need more experience with regards to design.

Im sure the customer is satisfied...thats all that matters.

I noticed the 1 - 2" gap problem right away.
