Estimating stump volume

Equations are presented that predict diameter inside and outside bark for tree boles below 4.5 feet given d.b.h. These equations are modified and integrated to estimate stump volume. Parameters are presented for 22 Lake States species groups. 1982

Estimating stump volume   (1982)

The objective of this study was to develop a technique for estimating the volume both inside and outside bark of any stump section between ground level and 4.5 feet. Equations are presented that predict diameter inside and outside bark for tree boles below 4.5 feet given d.b.h. These equations are modified and integrated to estimate stump volume. Parameters are presented for 22 Lake States species groups.
