Q.
I had a 24x50 dry kiln until late December when we lost it to fire. I'm ready to rebuild, and need advice on a better kiln system and a building. We dry Eastern cedar, yellow pine, red and white oak, and some walnut and cherry.
Contact any of the major kiln companies for advice on a building, controls, and auxiliary equipment. There are two basic buildings: aluminum prefab and masonry. Most kilns for the species you dry would be steam/boiler heated, but your small size suggests that maybe DH would be a possibility.
Besides getting input from kiln companies, hiring a consultant is another option.
