Spring Or Hydro Collet

06/02/2014

From original questioner:

I just got a CNC head to hold corrugated knives to cut profiles. The head has a 3/4" shank. The salesman said a 3/4" spring collet is good to hold the 2lb head and knives. I have hydraulic tool holders in 1/2 and 1", not 3/4".

Is the 3/4" spring collet safe enough for that head. I'm sure some of you have the same head, so what do you have to hold it?

Thanks

you will be just fine with regular spring collet
the only thing is run a new collet just to make sure its not worn.
