I am a licensed contractor with one employee and we install the cabinets that we build. Should my workers comp rate be classified under "cabinets and fixtures" or "cabinet manufacturing"?
Thanks,
Andy

Depending on how you track your time and your carrier you can pay one rate for the shop and a different rate for the field here in California.
Its about $8 difference per $100 of wages for us so its worth tracking, the carrier may not do it on a small policy.

We do same as Alan F. in Nebraska.

I am in California and after a little research it seems I need to do just that, use the manufacturing rate for shop time and the cabinet/fixture rate for install hours.
Thanks,
Andy
