*Cabinet Factory Closure Sees 333 Lots Go Under the Hammer - Apex Auctions to Sell-Off Everything from Machinery to Office Chairs*

An extensive range of items is now going under the hammer in online auctions following the closure of a top UK cabinet maker.

From high-spec woodworking machinery to office equipment, and even a traditional British red telephone box, Apex Auctions has listed hundreds of items on behalf of Alstons Cabinets.

The Ipswich site was one of the market leaders in cabinet making but closed earlier this year, leaving many multi-purpose machines out of use and resulting in every single asset being left unwanted.

Among the lots are dozens of CNC machines, which are ideal not only for production sites involved in making furniture, but also for many other applications, woodworking or otherwise.

“The closure of this large facility has presented us with an immense number of lots to put to auction, with wide-ranging appeal,” explains Adam Taylor, Marketing Manager at Apex Auctions.

“There are some excellent machines in the auction, as well as a mountain of business equipment such as office furniture, storage, notions and fixings and small industrial vehicles.”

One of the more unusual items up for sale is a British red telephone box. Now rarely seen on the UK’s pavements, this eye-catching cast iron piece of street furniture could become the star of the sale.

“It’s not something you have chance to buy every day, and for a collector or just someone who wants an unusual ornament for their garden, it could be perfect,” Adam adds.

The Alstons Group chose to close the Ipswich plant in order to focus on the successful upholstery side of their business. Before the site closed, the equipment was being used to produce thousands of pieces of high quality furniture each month and had ensured the factory ran as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.

Among the CNC machines for sale are:

• Schelling (2005) Solution 4 CNC Automatic Panel Cut to Size Plant - Automatic In Feed - Circular Sawing Machines - Sorting & Stacking
• Homag (2005) Type Profi BAZ 222/60/K Optimat CNC Processing Centre / Routing & Boring Machine. With PC85 Controls
• Homag - Bargstedt (2000) Power Line - Double Sided Panel Sizing & Edge Banding Line
• MAW (1999) Type L-DB-1/4 Drilling + Insertion System
• Koch (2001) Type BD-60-B Drawer Front Boring Machine
• Biesse (2007) Model Skipper 100 PTP Real-Time Panel CNC Machining Centre

• Rotherwood (2000) Process Draw Assembley Robot Cell - Model RC Folding

“This machinery really is very impressive and would be a real bonus to many types of manufacturing facility,” Adam continues.

“As our customers tell us; buying used CNC machines is the ideal way for them to acquire high-quality equipment and boost their capabilities and productivity.”
