HOLZ HER EDGE BANDER
12/4/12
Have a holz herr sprint, wondering what people have the main heater and the nozzles set at. We have been having adhesion issues on our self edge bands. Have looked at everything, now wondering if a tech has told us a bad bit of info. We have main heater and nozzle set at 205, using jowat 286.30. Anybody got any info?

That might be a little hot: Jowat recommends a range of 180-200 C for that glue. You will need to run a few tests, but I would start with 190 at the main heater and 185 at the nozzle.
Good luck!

Your glue temperature is too high. Lower both settings by 5 degrees and run a test. If you still have an adhesion problem, lower the temperature a little more until the edgebanding adheres.

You might want to check the actual temperature with an infrared sensor. You can get good ones for less than $100. Cold shop or materials? Presure rollers regulator set correctly? Run some clear banding to see the actual spread.
