Rift White Oak Flush Doors

Hi ya'll,

I am looking to build some rift white oak horizontal grain doors. I typically order 4/4 and slice my own veneer. Any thoughts on matching grain and colour? I'll try to add a few pics from online but not sure if this is real wood veneer or not. Not sure how they'd get so consistent with rift cut lumber.

being 7' tall doors with typical lumber - the most veneer I can possibly get out of 1 board is 12 pcs and I need 15 pcs tall to cover my 84"

Looks like a standard layup of commercial veneer to me. The manufacturer just orders sequential veneer packs and can easily have the same pattern throughout the home. The veneer mill makes all the slices of the entire log in a rift position. They don't take veneer from boards.

If you prefer to cut your own veneer because you want a thicker veneer than the typical 1/42" have a look at thicker offerings. Try Certainly Wood.
You are going to pay and arm and a leg for rift white oak. It is in high demand and low supply right now. The best logs always go for veneer so you can't buy the quality of solid that you see in veneer.

I just paid $9.42 b/f for 4/4 Rift White Oak yesterday!

The photos are just a commercial layup of rift veneer. They would be getting about 42 pcs per inch vs your 12. That is why the color and grain are so consistent.

I would use a firm like Indiana Architectural Plywood to lay them up for me
