Time To Replace Mozaik??

Mozaik gone creasy, price is doubled in less than 2 years,
We start previously around $125 per month and since it was acquired by Cyncly, price increases 40 to 50 per year,
Last year we finally arrived to $195 but tonight I got the contract renewal with the new increase $220.
And it is not only me who start getting dissatisfied with this contentious price increase.

https://slashdot.org/software/p/Mozaik/

They do not tell the actual pricing to the customers till now on their web site, the snap shot showing the old pricing and not showing the future pricing and this is Not nice.
Paying $2600 per year, with potential 13% increase every year or more that totals cabinet vision in about 8 years. Honestly I do not know what is cost of any other software around .
But I guess it is the time to find and explore any other software.
Does anyone please give some info for any alternative software can work with cnc and label system? And it will be Purchase option no more lease.
Any software that can replace Mozaik please feel free to contact me.
Thank you in advance.

I believe that Mozaik is still the lowest cost option. We switched from Mozaik to Microvellum about a year ago. Its been very good for us, but we needed more capability than what Mozaik offered.

As a point of reference, Microvellum was roughly $50k up front, and we do own the software, but in order to have access to updates and technical support, we have a maintenance contract for about $5k annually.

Cabinetvision is only like $40k for a single seat and a post. The maintenance contract is only a couple thousand a year too.

You used to be able to purchase mozaik. I'm not sure if that's still an option.

I like the subscription method for this. Mostly because I might pull the pin and go get a real job at any moment

Ha !
There is no low cost option. Mozaik does good for the price in my opinion. However I have guys that I know running Microvellum from 2012 still and have no issues and haven't paid since 2012. I think if Microvelum can be purchased one time and you don't need to pay maintanance unless you want to it may be the way that I go in the future. The features it has now would do most everything I would need till I retire and if they had some massive update I wanted I could cough up the 5 k or whatever and just upgrade every five years or so.

I get it for small cabinet shops the price increase sucks, but we all knew that was gling to happen. The value of our homes have doubled in the last 5 years so how can other things not cost more?

I'm with Karl, I may ditch at any time so why pay a bunch one time, monthly is ok by me. Just pass on the cost in your product.

When I started my shop I gave all my install contacts to my brother. Now he makes 1600 - 2100 a day installing cabients for them by himself with a 35.00 an hour helper who come in a few days a week to help move the big pantries and large items into place. He makes 5000-8000 a week. His insurance is 1800.00 a year and mine is 16000.00 my shop is 125000.00 per year, each employee is 68000 per year. He has no shop or overhead other than insurance. He just bought a 1.2 million dollar propperty. I still rent and can't afford to buy a house or my own shop. I cashflow around 1.7 million a year but don't make enough on paper to own anything. I bought all machinery with cash from selling my house so no machinery payments.

I think I can buy a building in 18 months if I claim no deductions and skimp by on the nescessties to show more money on paper. I work 80 hours a week and am 47. I do seriously question if I F'd up royally going this direction. I will see if my idea of being a cabinet shop owner was a fools errand or a good descision in the next two years. If I am not paying down my own building by then I am out.

LOL - nice rant huh

FORUM GUIDELINES: Please review the guidelines below before posting at WOODWEB's Interactive Message Boards (return to top)

  • WOODWEB is a professional industrial woodworking site. Hobbyist and homeowner woodworking questions are inappropriate.
  • Messages should be kept reasonably short and on topic, relating to the focus of the forum. Responses should relate to the original question.
  • A valid email return address must be included with each message.
  • Advertising is inappropriate. The only exceptions are the Classified Ads Exchange, Machinery Exchange, Lumber Exchange, and Job Opportunities and Services Exchange. When posting listings in these areas, review the posting instructions carefully.
  • Subject lines may be edited for length and clarity.
  • "Cross posting" is not permitted. Choose the best forum for your question, and post your question at one forum only.
  • Messages requesting private responses will be removed - Forums are designed to provide information and assistance for all of our visitors. Private response requests are appropriate at WOODWEB's Exchanges and Job Opportunities and Services.
  • Messages that accuse businesses or individuals of alleged negative actions or behavior are inappropriate since WOODWEB is unable to verify or substantiate the claims.
  • Posts with the intent of soliciting answers to surveys are not appropriate. Contact WOODWEB for more information on initiating a survey.
  • Excessive forum participation by an individual upsets the balance of a healthy forum atmosphere. Individuals who excessively post responses containing marginal content will be considered repeat forum abusers.
  • Responses that initiate or support inappropriate and off-topic discussion of general politics detract from the professional woodworking focus of WOODWEB, and will be removed.
  • Participants are encouraged to use their real name when posting. Intentionally using another persons name is prohibited, and posts of this nature will be removed at WOODWEB's discretion.
  • Comments, questions, or criticisms regarding Forum policies should be directed to WOODWEB's Systems Administrator

WOODWEB's forums are a highly regarded resource for professional woodworkers. Messages and responses that are crafted in a professional and civil manner strengthen this resource. Messages that do not reflect a professional tone reduce the value of our forums.

Messages are inappropriate when their content: is deemed libelous in nature or is based on rumor, fails to meet basic standards of decorum, contains blatant advertising or inappropriate emphasis on self promotion (return to top).

Libel:   Posts which defame an individual or organization, or employ a tone which can be viewed as malicious in nature. Words, pictures, or cartoons which expose a person or organization to public hatred, shame, disgrace, or ridicule, or induce an ill opinion of a person or organization, are libelous.

Improper Decorum:   Posts which are profane, inciting, disrespectful or uncivil in tone, or maliciously worded. This also includes the venting of unsubstantiated opinions. Such messages do little to illuminate a given topic, and often have the opposite effect. Constructive criticism is acceptable (return to top).

Advertising:   The purpose of WOODWEB Forums is to provide answers, not an advertising venue. Companies participating in a Forum discussion should provide specific answers to posted questions. WOODWEB suggests that businesses include an appropriately crafted signature in order to identify their company. A well meaning post that seems to be on-topic but contains a product reference may do your business more harm than good in the Forum environment. Forum users may perceive your references to specific products as unsolicited advertising (spam) and consciously avoid your web site or services. A well-crafted signature is an appropriate way to advertise your services that will not offend potential customers. Signatures should be limited to 4-6 lines, and may contain information that identifies the type of business you're in, your URL and email address (return to top).

Repeated Forum Abuse: Forum participants who repeatedly fail to follow WOODWEB's Forum Guidelines may encounter difficulty when attempting to post messages.

There are often situations when the original message asks for opinions: "What is the best widget for my type of shop?". To a certain extent, the person posting the message is responsible for including specific questions within the message. An open ended question (like the one above) invites responses that may read as sales pitches. WOODWEB suggests that companies responding to such a question provide detailed and substantive replies rather than responses that read as a one-sided product promotion. It has been WOODWEB's experience that substantive responses are held in higher regard by our readers (return to top).
