Passing of a long time poster on the Woodweb8/10/21
Alan Fenstermacher passed away a few months ago
I don't have any more information, I got this from Jim Mammina.
Alan will be missed and contributed a lot to the industry
Fenstermacher meant window maker in German
Always sorry to hear, My Prayers to all in his Family of Life and work.
He will be missed, his posts were always reasoned and spot on, and his grasp of the money side of the business, which he freely shared, was always helpful.
I have two MGBs (mine and my wife's) and face this issue all too often on the MG forums as our interest group ages out. Always a great loss of friendship and knowledge and very sad to hear.
In the 90s CNC was a new thing to woodworking
Alan was the go to guy to gain insight into the new world of CNC and the business of woodworking
If you want to see who created the world you now operate in you have to look at the graveyard
It sure as hell isn't from the blowhards who talk about themselves
That was a loss to this community. A great source of experience and information.
Wrote a lot of change orders that were accepted thanks to Alan.
I was hoping to meet him some day.
Anyone know of the charities he was fond of ?
He always had a great business minded response to whatever questions were asked. His contributions will be missed
