Undermount slides w/1/4" side clearance
6/12/15
I have a client with roller type undermount drawer slides who would like to replace them with soft close Tandems (or similar). The drawer boxes are dovetailed solid maple, 5/8" sides, 21" long with notch and hole in the back. The only issue seems to be that the drawers have 1/4" side clearance vs. the Blum 3/16". I wasn't able to find any brand name on the old slides. Does anyone know of a soft close slide that would be a direct replacement? (plan B is to just use Blum and shim them out).

Are they true 5/8" or nominal. You might be able to just pop them in and they'll work. Use the 533's, with the side to side adjustment you might get them to work.
I don't know of any that have a larger space.

Try one, it might work. I use 5/8 baltic which usually measures closer to 9/16, so my clearance is 15/32 total. You can cut the underside of the drawer sides down if needed.

There are two different clearance options with tandom slides. 5/8" and 3/4 material. The 3/4" material slide may give you the needed extra clearance. Also most likely the holes we'll need to be redrilled on the back.

Hettich undermount uses 1/4" if I recall
