I reposted this from the solid surface forum to cabinetmaking forum to see if I could get a quicker response.
I could use a little help with a price check here for those of you who sell and fabricate Corian. We are new to fabricating solid surface and when sold we have always combined it with millwork. I was asked to bid on some countertops at the private school where my daughters attend. We do work there every year and I apply it towards tuition which is a real nice perk. Needless to say it is important work for me to get and my pricing needs to appear fair to keep them coming back.
This year we were asked to price 2 vanities in the second floor bathrooms which were identical to the first floor bathrooms which were done by a solid surface/stone shop here in town 3 years ago. The shop they used before is reputable and not a price oriented operation. So I priced the vanities and I am 50% more than what they paid three years ago. UGH!~
I Would appreciated a sampling of approximately where others would be.
The job is two tops 24" deep w/a 5" drop face and 4" splash. One tops is 133" and the other is 104". If you figure the face, splash and deck it is 57 fabricated square feet. The are a total of 6 Corian 851 (shell shaped) integral bowls. The color is level D, Burled Beach (3 total slabs). I also have to supply the plywood sub-frame, 3 powder coated metal supports and installation. My total material costs are around $2600. Sales tax is not applicable.
I would appreciate a little price check help to know that my thinking is not skewed. Our materials are generally 30-35% of our cost of goods sold. By the way the shop they used before is too busy to even return their phone call.
