end panel toe notch

As I'm sure as most of you do, when a dishwasher is at the end of a run of cabinets we put a finished end panel in to support the countertop. Do you put a toe notch in that end panel?

No. Straight to floor. It's bad design to have a skinny panel holding up a countertop in my opinion...unless the panel is quite thick and the connection solid.

Straight to floor and we try to make it at least 1" or more. Harold.

I've done it both ways. If the cabinet on the other side has a toe kick then I think it looks a little odd to not have a toe kick on the panel to match. Looks much better if we have done a base type foot and then get to extend the panel down as well.

They don't call it a toe kick for nothing. Every time we leave it straight, I've have to go back and cut them in, because the people smash their toes on them. I now notch it on all of them , but only go about 2 1/4 in. That way the dishwasher toe doesn't stick out in front of it. MIKE
