Posted a while back about shop van. Do not want to invest in new, but need something bigger than my old dodge caravan which is getting old. We rent from Uhaul about 3-4 times a month 14ft cube seems to always be enough. Looked at many used ford e350's, but anything decent is in the 10k range plus almost a grand for dealers fees. Tried the private route, but could not find anything reliable.
My car mechanic that I trust and have used for years has several Uhaul cube vans that he leaves and he told me their service record is quite good, even though many on line have not recommended them. I am bringing him a 2006 14footer with 90k on it to check out. 7400.00 with no dealer fees. Wrapped in white film and no dents, very clean and with 4 great tires. About 2700.00/year on my commercial policy with 1 million protection and considered a fleet lease so any of my guys can drive it without providing driver history. Donating my caravan to my synagogue and I get a tax receipt. Save 700.00 /year on that and have a readily available truck that I can load up the day before and head out early rather than picking up at Uhaul and starting later. It's not going to get daily use. Anyone else have success with used hauls? Harold.
