Would like to know accuracy of Bridgewood sliding table shaper. Specifically model 511TS. How
would sliding table be for cutting stile and rail parts for cabinet doors?
Thanks,
Al

I had that shaper a little bit ago. It was a solid performer. I installed an 8020 outboard fence and some softer Western Roller wheels on the feeder and it would run stick cuts all day long. I didn't care for the fence and clamp on the slider and ran my cope cuts with a dedicated jig.

That fence looks like the one that came with one of my old jet shapers ..... Did not care for that at all......Want a solid shaper with a digital fence look at a SCM T130 sliding Table .....Love this machine

Just wondering if you could mount your own fence and clamp to table and forego the one that comes with it. Does sliding table run consistent with cutter up and down and parallel to fence?
I've read sliding tables on shapers make cope cuts inconsistently.

Yes, you can make a usable fence if you don't like the stock one. If the spindle is solid and the sliding table runs true and you can clamp the work to it without movement you can make consistent cope cuts. If the fence is parallel to the table travel that is helpful but not essential. You can butt the workpiece to a stop block attached to the fence . I can't comment on this specific machine except to say that Bridgewood is no longer in business and any spares will be more difficult to source, not that there is much to go wrong on a basic shaper.

I have a Felder F700 shaper with a sliding table that we use for all our rail end cope cuts. The sliding table and it's fence and cam clamp are excellent. Smooth to operate with consistently reliable results.
