Adam B,
Part of a "shop manager's" job is to always portray the shop well. The OP does this wrong when he links to the shop he does not own and say in general terms they are not managing their manager well and probably not paying him enough. Overall, he did not give a great impression of the business. The exact same thing could have been done anonymously.
However, my biggest issues is I would want my "top guys" to be smart enough to realize he is being completely vague. In fact the only thing he is being completely vague about is the exact information we would need in order to give him a reasoned response. The non important information, and the stuff that could not point at him being responsible for, he is being crystal clear on.
In other words, a man who cannot manage a woodweb post might find himself overwhelmed "managing" an actual business of 3, let alone 30, and I might come to believe he is in over his head and want to chat with him. I might want to sit him down and make sure his head is an organized place and that he is a man that does not pass the buck. Because without either of those traits he cannot organize my team or be a man I want to organize my team. Savy?
