Woodtek Wide belt sander

I'm looking for replacement parts for my Woodtek 36 inch wide belt overhead sander. Does anyone have a contact?
It's a 924006 20 HP 3 Phase machine. My big roller ahead of the platen is damaged in a couple spots. Wondering if I can dress that rubber wheel or if I need to replace it.

There are places that recover them. If it isn't in too bad of shape you can dress it by gluing abrasive to a sheet of melamine and sending it through.

Hi Larry,
Just take the belt off and run the abrasive sheet through and take off maybe a 64th at a time?

I've had to do this a few times during the 25 years I've had my sander. Take a new belt (I use 120 grit) and cut it throught the splice. Glue it down to a fresh sheet of particle board with contact cement. You could use melamine, but it's pretty slick and may not grip the feed belt well. Run it through taking very light passes until all the divots in the roller are gone. Depending on how deep they are, it might take a dozen passes or more to get them all out.

What Duster said, but I'd be inclined to use a coarser belt. Goes faster and heats less.

Ok thanks, I'm going to do it. It beats spending 1800 on a new roller. I appreciate all the tips.

I did the same thing to my Grizzly 37” a few months ago. I’m glad to hear others have done this! I thought I was a crazy person for trying it but it worked like a champ. I cut an old belt in half and glued to both sides of a piece of Mdf. I was afraid it would slip on the feed belt. It does require a good bit of cleanup afterwards to get all that rubber off the surfaces.

It's three years after this thread ended, but my small Woodtek wide belt sander had a belt failure that did some surface damage to my rubber roller. The sander has been discontinued and parts have not been available for quite some time. I was pretty discouraged until I read this thread. Dressing the roller is a terrific idea. I am heading out to my shop to give it a go. I just wanted to say thank you.

As suggested, I cut apart a 100 grit sanding belt and glued a panel to a piece of hardwood plywood. I used this to re-surface my injured rubber roller and it worked like a charm! I tested the results and I'm very pleased!!

Does anyone have a owners manual or wiring diagram for a Woodtek 924006? Trying to wire it for 480v 3 phase. It's currently wired 240v 3 phase. I assume it's just the motors but want to make sure that's all that needs to be changed. Any help is appreciated.
