Salice Face Frame Inset Hinge10/30
Does anyone using Salice hinges know if this hinge/mounting plate combo is correct for face frame inset doors? The doors I buy are a little thicker, I think 13/16" or 7/8".
This is not the correct combination. We actually offer 2 methods for inset face frame applications.
The first method would be to attach the mounting plate to the back of the face frame. The mounting plate you show, BAL3R59 is correct for this approach. The correct hinge however would be the "half overlay" version. Salice item C2R6G99. You are showing an "inset" hinge that would be used in our second approach.
The second method would be to use an inset hinge C2R6P99 (like you show) but with a mounting plate of the correct thickness that would be attached directly to the cabinet side. The choice of mounting plate would depend on the measurement behind the face frame.
I have included 2 illustrations that detail both approaches. The drawings show ¾” thick doors but your 7/8” thick doors will also work with these solutions. You would adjust to a slightly larger gap between the door edge and the face frame when 7/8" doors are used.
You can use either self-close or soft close hinges with either method using the correct part number.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best of luck,
This is exactly the information I had been trying to find. Thank you for replying.
