We changed from the super expensive 3M Purple ceramic belts in our 43" dual head widebelt to a much much cheaper aluminum oxide VSM belt. The lifespan is decent, I'm not unhappy with it, but we get a lot of sawdust that builds up in the enclosure now and clinging to a lot of the components. Most likely from static. Before there was always a little, but not much stuck to things.
I would say, obviously, this has to be something related to the belts. But, wondering if it is possible this is something else? Or a remedy to counter the difference in belts?
-Machine is well grounded. As is the dust collection.
-Shop is pretty dry right now, (compared to outside), I'm hovering around 50%.
-I don't get zapped by the machine when I touch it, though that did happened in the old shop occasionally.
-No air knife option.
-CFM is adequate, though I do know I need to clean socks in the baghouse soon, but even when they were really plugged up in the past, it really didn't affect performance at the widebelt.
-Dust collection setup is good, and was in the past. It's a 12" pipe with two 7" lines coming off it, two spaced out 45 degree elbows making the turn from vertical to horizontal in the pipe.
