ritter clamping table

I have a ritter faceframe/door assembly table which works great, but leaves stains on any areas with glue squeezeout that touch the steel table.
Has anyone else had this problem and came up with a solution. I was thinking of trying to clearcoat the steel, but it would probably wear off quickly.

I have the same issue with steel pipe clamps. Just a reaction. Maybe use a self stick clear film. You'd probably have to cut out all the holes on the table though.
If I have something that I can't get stains on I will just use masking tape where the glue will hit the clamp.

I use Gulfwax (parafin) wax- found at the grocery store with canning supplies- to stop the staining from my bar clamps
I just rub the block of wax over the top of the bar once or twice before starting the glue up. Keeps the glue from reacting with the iron and keeps the glue from sticking to the clamp.
You can rub some on your table where your glue up will take place and refresh as necessary

We had a similar Ritter table. We covered in in the stick-on carpet protector rolls. Worked a treat except that you have to poke the hole the 1st time you use every one.

We use Bates Boothcoating on our JLT panel clamps. It's kind of a thick waxy liquid that you can brush on. Also make cleaning the the dried squeezed out glue off much easier. We do it about once or twice a year.
