Hi all,
Looking for lightweight panels for a boat build:
Faces: black melamine / TFL on both sides (CPL acceptable)
Core: true veneer‑core plywood, no MDF or particleboard
Thickness: 3/16″‑3/8″ (≈ 5‑9 mm)
Size: full 4×8 sheets (metric 49″×97″ okay)
Target price: ≤ $40 / sheet in skid lots (20‑40 sheets)
Region: can ship or pick up anywhere Maine → Florida; US or Canada
What I’ve found so far:
BertaStore pre‑finished ply (white) – Perfect. But only stocked in white
Anderson Color‑Ply phenolic birch – veneer core but likely over budget
Riga Form phenolic birch – similar cost concern
Funder America TFL panels – they say they can press on veneer core, waiting on quote
Athira Plywood USA – TFL veneer core – quote pending, India‑based mill
Imeca, Cherokee, Plywood Co. of Fort Worth – all particleboard or MDF
Uniboard, Canusa – veneer core only in 18 mm+ or high price
If you’ve sourced thin black TFL plywood recently—or know a press that will run a 25‑sheet skid at a reasonable price—please share a lead. Much appreciated!
Thanks!
