I am drawing a rocking chair and there are flat spots on the runners that I want to put a circle with a cross in the center of it to signify where the flat spot begins and ends, so the piece is coming down to the runners will hit the flat spot. After I have drawn my straight line, how do I put the crosshair at the beginning and the end of a line? I don�t know if these are called nodes or what

Thank you for the quick response and upload.

Nodes are things one snaps to. They are not generally used as geometric shapes for printing.

My suggestion is to create a circle with a + in it and copy it to the end points of the line

or just extend a line down into the runner on each end of the bottom endpoint.

I suspect you are printing this to full size and then paste it on a board and then cut it out with a band saw. I don't know what the mentioned shaper has anything do with this.

Are you familiar with F3 and the settings for osnaps? It seems you are, given what you have already drawn.

Overall, my current understanding of what you are asking for is...

You want a divide nodes at the endpoints of your lines and not in the middle. (Note you can modify how they display, but their size is always relative to the view scale, and so are not a fixed size)

If you insist on using snap nodes for printing and they work out good for you on the piece of paper tou are printing and you are fine with it then what I suggest you do is create a new line at the bottom of your verticals that is three times longer than the original and then divide that line by 3. Then erase the line.

Again just creating your own geometric shape and placing it where you want is probably the fastest and easiest way to do that.
A simple block entity that you can use again and again in the future works as well as something as simple as an X.
