For those who make 2 piece insert panel mdf doors, what has been your assembly method? What have you done to keep pressure on the panels where they contact the rails while the glue dries?

I think he's talking about, cutting out a like a picture frame. Then adding a panel from the back. Maybe?

We make all panels fit tight and from the front and not the back. With the tight tolerances on the Cnc we can get them tight enough that we don’t have to apply any pressure. Light bead of glue set in with a mallet and block of wood and on to final sanding and finish.

Yes, we are cutting out the center and inserting. When you insert it from the front do you need to apply any putty or anything at the seam of the panel and rails/stiles before finishing? To stop the paint from cracking?

No, if you machine them tight enough you should have no problem.

How do you deal with the radius in the corners from the main cutter on the frame?
Even if you clean it up with a 1/8" cutter, seems like you'd have to have at least a small roundover on the center panels to get the corners nice.

Well it’s easy enough to put a 1/16 radius on the panels.
