I was wondering is any one was making drawer boxes on your flat bed CNC using pre finished multiply plywood. With Vortex insert tooling ? What are thought ?

We make dovetail drawers off the router all the time. Vortex tooling is very good and that is what we our currently using. Cabinetvision is our software so they have the file for that at vortex tooling if you use this software. The thickness setting is the most critical dimension. We currently have our thickness set at .59 for thickness. Trial run is necessary but not a difficult process.

I made our custom size drawers for over a year this way. Depth of cut and thickness of plywood are critical when setting up. It is slow, (I have a fast Buselatto machine) and a full sheet of parts would take 25-30 minutes to run. When the drawer was assembled you literally could not tell the difference in it and a drawer from BHK. I buy several hundred standard size drawers at a time from BHK. The price I pay for unassembled drawers is LESS per box than buying the material locally and making myself.
I recently purchased a used Laguna Dovetail machine and have been very happy with it.
I have the Vortex tool for 1/2 price of new if anyone is interested.
