Goliath CNC router
1/13/21
Hi everyone!
Long time reader, first time writer here. I have been reading a lot through the forum, but I can't find anything related to a CNC router called Goliath.
I believe it's made in Europe and heard that they have started to launch it in the US market.
Has anyone heard about this product? Or maybe used it or have seen it in action?
Also, curious to know where I can buy one.
Thanks!
Jack

Yep, that's the one. Have seen it or tried it?
I'm very intrigued by the way it works. The videos they posted recently are really really cool!

I guess it depends on what you want to do with it.
Obviously a hobbyist product.
Unless you have a very specific task and will never change I'd think you'd outgrow it in about 3 hours.

I have larger cnc machines, I am not sold on any viable long use of this type but there are several brands so they must have a reason for them. Shopbot also has one

I won't comment on the machine since I have never seen one in action. As a general principle I would advise going to see one and taking a CAD file of a part you might want to produce.Ask to see the whole process of generating a toolpath and then cutting the part.Until you have been satisfied that the machine will do what you want, don't part with any money.Additionally when looking at the cost don't forget the cost of the CAM software and maybe a custom post processor.

I'm not convinced it won't loose traction if there is any dust on the cutting surface. I just bought a Shaper Origin to play with in my retirement. A lot more expensive than this one, but very impressed so far. I think our grandson will appreciate the toys I make for him. Neither of these will replace a gantry router in a cabinet shop.
