Hey guys, I am considering a Biesse Rover B with a flat table. It is a 2004 machine looks to be in good condition. I am not a newbie in the cnc wood world, but Biesse has not crossed my path yet. I have a Komo right now, just want to get a 2nd machine for redundancy. At my old job we had a Busellato, a Komo and a pair of CR Onsruds and a Giben. I programmed with mastercam and also used Busellatos' software and a converter to go from autocad to the genesis control software.
Anyway, my questions are mainly around the control and software. First, what operating system would this machine have? Would it be on XP? On the machine control, is there a parametric option? What would I have to do to get a dxf to code I can run on it? If I get one, I need to be able to do signage, millwork, weird one off stuff, etc as well as nesting cab parts. Can any of these be done with the control? I am assuming I'd use a CAM program and appropriate post, but just don't know for sure on these. I'd rather get an idea from some users before I get on any mailing lists in case I decide I am not going that direction.
Also, are they reliable (control/software and mechanically) assuming not abused?
Thanks for any help,
Jason
